Hi Everyone,
Today is a very special day for me…a day I’ve looked forward to for a very long time; the time when a new chapter begins.
As many of you know, my only child, my son is getting married in November. Today is the bridal shower and in my heart, I have always looked forward to knowing who my son would someday settle down with, and all the festivities that surround a wedding. Aside from the official engagement this past New Year’s Eve, today marks that new chapter. Although I have heaps of beautiful gifts for this ultra special couple, there is one in particular that is extremely sentimental to me. From my son’s first year, one of our Christmas traditions was to buy him an ornament that represented whatever he was doing that year. He got one each year to hang on the tree on Christmas Eve. However, for me, there was a plan behind that new tradition….to collect them and one day wrap to give to his bride at their bridal shower. If for some reason he chose not to marry, I would have given them to him to start his new life wherever it would take him. Well, I purchased a lovely carry “ornament” case and tonight I tucked each one in it’s compartment. It was emotional to see it come to fruition, and to remember the reason I bought each ornament, but later today, I get to see my new daughter’s reaction. She was born on Christmas, so this makes this extra gift all the more special.
I share this with you, as many have asked to know more about me. I will not overwhelm you, but thought this was a great place to start given that this is the reason that we all come together within the scrapbooking community…to share and document these milestones for future generations.
I hope to capture a lot of photos, so I will share a few with you soon.
